Corvaldine is a combined preparation that has a calming and antispasmodic effect. Accelerates the course of the phase of falling asleep, and its transition into the phase of natural sleep.
The active substances that determine the pharmacological effect of the drug are as follows. Ethyl ester of alpha-bromizovaleric acid is a substance with a sedative and spasmolytic effect, which is achieved by reducing the activity of the reticular formation of the CNS and other brain structures. Phenobarbital in Corvaldine is contained in a dose that has a mild sedative and vasodilating effect. Oils of peppermint and hops have reflex vasodilating and spasm-eliminating actions, due to which they can eliminate the phenomena of flatulence.
Indications for use
The use of the drug is indicated in the following situations. With sleep disorders, pain in the heart, heart rhythm disturbance by the type of sinus tachycardia, various neurotic states, manifestations of vegetative lability, concomitant irritability, manifestations of hypochondriac syndrome, and also in the early stages of arterial hypertension.
The presence of antispasmodic effect in the drug makes it possible to use it for spasms of smooth muscles of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract, in particular, in bile and intestinal colic.
Mode of application
Take the drug inside before meals, usually with a small amount of water or other liquid in the ratio: Corvaldine 15 - 30 drops, liquid 30-50 drops.
Multiplicity of admission 2 - 3 times a day. If necessary, you can increase the single dose to 40-50 drops. This may be necessary, for example, with sinus tachycardia.
For children, the daily dose can be from 3 to 15 drops. The duration of application is determined by the doctor depending on the clinical situation.
