The structure of Vikair includes bismuth subnitrate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, buckthorn bark, magnesium carbonate and rhizomes of ayr. The components of the drug provide antacid, bactericidal, laxative, astringent, spasmolytic and reparative effect of Vicair.
Sodium bicarbonate is an absorbing antacid. Reacts with neutral acid with hydrochloric acid. Provides a quick, but a short-term effect.
Non-absorbable antacids are magnesium carbonate. Neutralizes hydrochloric acid by the formation of magnesium chloride and carbon dioxide. The action of magnesium carbonate develops slowly, but in time is longer than the action of sodium bicarbonate. In the future, magnesium ions increase the osmotic pressure in the intestine. The result is an increase in the volume of intestinal contents and acceleration of the passage.
Included in the composition of Vikaira antacids, absorbing pepsin, reduce the proteolytic effect of gastric juice.
Bismuth salts, getting into an acidic environment, form chelate compounds with protein structures of the mucous membrane, which leads to the formation of a protective coating on the damaged area. In addition, they stimulate the production of prostaglandins, which promote the formation of mucus and bicarbonate. Bismuth salts can cause the death of H. pylori. Part of the bismuth is absorbed in the digestive tract, then excreted by the kidneys. The other part is excreted with feces in the form of sulfide, which has a dark color.
The rhizomes of aira have an antispasmodic, reparative and analgesic effect. The bark of the buckthorn contains saponins and anthraglycosides, from which emodin is formed in the intestine, which causes reflex stimulation of intestinal peristalsis.
Indications for use
Peptic ulcer disease (with ulceration localization in both the stomach and duodenal bulb), hyperacid gastritis when bowel movements tend to constipation.
Mode of application
After eating, after 1-1.5 hours. Single dose - 1-2 tablets. Daily multiplicity of reception - 3 times. The duration of the course of therapy is up to 2 months.
