Pharmacological properties
combined preparation for external use. Flumethasone is a fluorinated cortisone derivative with a pronounced anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and antipruritic effect. Clioquinol has antibacterial and antifungal action, and also potentiates the antiexudative effect of flumethasone. Flumethasone pivalat easily penetrates the skin through the keratinized epidermis. After resorption enters the systemic circulation, it is metabolized mainly in the liver. It is excreted in the urine and in minor amounts with bile in the form of glucuronic conjugates and in unchanged form. Clioquinol has a local effect and is not practically absorbed into the blood.
Indications for use
suppurative complications of allergic skin diseases or bacterial skin infections that occur with severe inflammation; microbial eczema, vulgar impetigo, lichen, erythroderma, urticaria, limited fungal skin lesions with secondary allergization.
Dosing and Administration
topical application. Ointment is applied a thin layer on the affected area of the skin 1-2 times a day. Duration of application - no more than 2 weeks. For a week it is recommended to consume no more than 1 tube of cream. With significant lichenization, the use of an occlusive dressing is indicated, which should be changed every 24 hours.
Side effects
different reactions such as contact eczema are possible. Symptoms of allergy mainly in people with allergic disease (eg, eczema). Exacerbation of already existing diseases, for example, with common or pink acne due to prolonged use of the ointment, papular or erythematous manifestations resistant to any methods of treatment may appear. Post-steroid acne, purpura, telangiectasia, atrophy and stretching of the skin, perioral dermatitis. Sometimes a feeling of dryness in the mouth with hypopigmentation.
Contraindications
increased sensitivity to GCS, clioquinol or other components of the drug, viral (herpes, shingles, chickenpox) skin infections, skin tuberculosis, skin tumors, common and rosacea, skin integrity disorders, burns, children under 5 years, I trimester pregnancy.

Overdose
: with prolonged use of the drug on large areas of the skin, it is possible to develop side effects characteristic of systemic use of GCS (peripheral edema, hypertension, hyperglycemia, reduction of resistance to infections), and in severe cases - the development of Cushing's syndrome. Therapy is symptomatic. However, given the low degree of systemic resorption of the drug with external application, these symptoms occur very rarely and only with its continued use (more than 2 weeks).
